MAR De Armstrong is a Colombian-Canadian multimedia artist. Her work is always guided by flow. For MAR, life is about love, family and experience – her relationship to the world.

Her sensitivity to her surroundings drives her work. She is connected. Things ‘happen’ around MAR. She is the conduit between that energy and her canvas. Organic, intense, experimental images spring from her world view. Her use of multiple canvases and media that literally leaps from the frame, anchor a viewer or send them reeling.

El Cielo is the first in a new series of paintings in honour of her late father. The series “Buscando la nube perfecta” explores how MAR experiences love, grief, her mortality and shaping her place in the world through the notion that our loved one’s energy is captured in the world around us and speaks to us through nature’s beauty. Her lifelong fascination with the sky and its constant change makes the perfect subject for expressing that quantum connection in “Searching for the Perfect Cloud”.
