Marina Dowden is a Prague-based painter whose work explores the dialogue between light, colour, and emotion. Working mainly in oil and acrylic, she creates expressive cityscapes and landscapes that balance abstraction and reality, capturing the quiet poetry of fleeting moments — the shimmer of twilight, the warmth that lingers after sunset, the stillness between day and night.
A diploma holder in Art Therapy, Marina believes deeply in the healing power of art — its ability to restore balance, awaken emotion, and connect people through shared creative experience. Her paintings reflect this philosophy, offering a contemplative space where color and form speak the language of feeling.
Her first exhibition took place in Austria in 2022, marking the beginning of a journey that has since included numerous exhibitions across the Czech Republic, most recently at Brandýs nad Labem Castle, Prague Open Art Fest and Bid4Auction Gallery. Alongside her artistic practice, Marina runs bilingual (Engl/CZ) painting workshops in Prague art galleries and her own art studio, where she invites participants to experience the uplifting and restorative power of creativity.
